Registration for this schedule starts on 11/25/2024 and ends on 02/17/2025
Participants must be 6 years and 10 months to 12 years old when the program starts.
In Junior Engineers, students are introduced to fundamental mechanics and robotics concepts and simple programming, working both independently and in small groups in a fun and supportive environment with experienced instructors.
This week-long program provides students with opportunities to build and test mechanical models and robots and begin collaborating to come up with their innovative and creative solutions to challenges. Throughout each session, instructors pose open-ended questions to stimulate critical thinking and creativity, facilitate discussion, and provide support for group problem-solving. This fun-packed week allows students to get comfortable experimenting and problem-solving in a safe and supportive learning environment.
In addition to acquiring new knowledge, participants will practice and strengthen the following competencies:
***NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE with robotics or programming is necessary. (This program uses a drag-and-drop coding language designed as a gentle introduction to programming concepts.)
